Casey and Dylan are fun to be around, they have an ease about them when together.  They go with the flow, which was very evident during their engagement shoot when Dylan didn’t complain when he lifted Casey upon my request, only to later find out later that he had just had his appendix out.  Whoops.  Ever since that shoot I was looking forward to this wedding.  Any correspondence I had with Casey made me smile – she always included happy faces, hearts, and complete gratitude.  And because of this gratitude I knew no matter what happened in their day, it would be great.

This was for sure the first wedding I have been to where the bride was there earlier than the groom.  As Dylan arrived on the bus with the wedding party, Casey waited anxiously in the car, ready to get the show on the road.  And with good reason, she was ready to enter one of the coolest venues I have shot at, the Strathmore Barn, to marry the love of her life.

The smoke was thick from B.C. and hung heavy but the great news – it created a huge soft box of amazing light for photos, there are always silver linings :).

Casey and Dylan chose to have a wide variety of locations – the barn offered an unbelievable back drop, Origin Malting & Brewing in Stathmore – well, it had amazing beer (and the crew even cleaned up to make things nice and shiny before we came)

and the ball diamond brought the fun.  This wedding party trooped through the photos, even putting aside nap time for the day.  This wedding party made me laugh a lot, always up for different poses and game for anything.

Dylan’s Dad surprised the two of them with a really cool live band for the night.  As my Mom and I drove away with huge smiles on our faces, we could hear the band playing in the background and the noise of very happy people.
