It was a bright sunny day in Calgary in Carburn Park with The Breithaupt Family which created some great opportunity with back lighting.  This crew always brings laughter with their dry senses of humour (that go along quite nicely with mine!)  It has been amazing watching this family grow and it was a real treat capturing the caring relationship between the older sisters and their new little brother.

It was a Calgary day of howling winds and gusts of rain but nothing could keep this fun loving couple and their friends from having an amazing time inside!  These two are both teachers and brought in a very clever teacher theme – all the way from HB0 pencils to a school bus to take the wedding party around.  This night ended with a pretty incredible dance party where new moves were shown off!

Some weddings you attend you just know that the couple was meant to be together, and Ali and Mark are one of those couples.  There were not many dry eyes in the room as this couple tied the knot in Calgary.  After the beautiful church ceremony we headed over to Heritage Park for bridal party pictures.  The day was very eventful with both bridesmaids being rather pregnant, one was even due the next day!  She managed to pull through though and held on to keep the night all about the wedding. 🙂  After doing their engagement photos I figured their wedding would end in just the manner it did – with incredible dance moves and an extraordinarily long congo line.

It was a cloudy day in Calgary as this family headed out for family photos, a perfect scene was set for the battle that was about to take place.  I may have never had so much fun as I did photographing this family as they battled it out with foam swords. I even got to get in there at the end and am pretty sure I will be purchasing some to play with in the near future! This was a perfect activity for the kids to perform to bribe them into getting a few posed shots.  I can’t wait for this family to welcome another new one into their army soon! 🙂

For this family shoot we took a more documentary approach.  Mama N wanted to capture a day in the life of their family so that they could look back on it in years and years to come.  I was lucky enough to catch them on the day of the older daughters dance recital where she showed me some pretty fancy moves.  After that there was some sprinkler running, painting, and their nightly tradition of cooking dinner together.  I was also given the amazing opportunity to capture their nightly bed time routine with this very sweet family.  You can’t help but fall in love with these girls!
